Designed & made by Kathryn Taylor of Silly Kat Quilts. Kathryn says:

Like so many other quilters around the world, while watching the crisis in Ukraine on the news, I wanted to do something to help. I know I can donate to a charitable organization, but I also want my impact to be more than what my pocketbook allows. So I thought I would make a quilt, put it up for auction, and all the money, 100% of it, would be donated to a reputable organization. I reached out to Jacquelynne and asked if she would like to help and she responded with a resounding “Yes!” She agreed to sell the pattern on her website. So with her as my mentor and cheerleader, I got to work.

As I was designing the quilt using the Ukrainian flag as my inspiration, I noticed the quilt design resembles a basket weave and I was struck by the symbolism of it - how people around the world are woven in unity in wanting to help. I also found it symbolic of how the people of Ukraine are stronger woven together in unity to stand for what is right. Together, Jacquelynne and I agreed that the money from the sales, 100% of it, will go to Convoy of Hope’s Crisis Relief Fund.
